In less than one week’s time, local students will be trading in their summer days for the upcoming school year, and the Board of Education released their annual evaluation of Superintendent Timothy F. Connellan’s performance just in time.
Last week, the BOE released their assessment of the superintendent for his work during the 2015-2016 school year.
The BOE said in the release that they evaluated Connellan on community and staff relationships, educational programs, business and fiscal management, physical plant management, personnel, educational leadership, management ability, and communication skills. Connellan met or exceeded expectations in all standards.
“Mr. Connellan has been leading the district in the direction he promised at the start of his tenure as our superintendent,” BOE chair Brian Goralski said in the release. “The Board appreciates Mr. Connellan’s intelligent, knowledgeable and thorough approach to the work of overseeing and leading the Southington Public Schools with a focus that is always student centered. The Board looks forward to continuing our work with Mr. Connellan.”
The extensive evaluation shows not only Connellan’s competence, but Southington Public Schools’ staff as a whole. Findings said that administration leadership’s development of student learning “should not be a stand-alone effort.” Continued success among the schools lies within the District and all of its components that make the education system run efficiently.
The 2016-2017 school year is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Sept. 1.
