On Wednesday, June 8, students from Derynoski Elementary School lined the street to welcome “The Wall That Heals” as it passed the school. Local veterans supplied American flags for the front lawn. Student musicians played “Taps,” while teachers and students gathers to applaud the procession of trucks, motorcycles, and first responders that escorted the Wall on its journey from the Home Depot on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike to its destination at Memorial Boulevard in Bristol. Since 1996, the half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C has toured communities throughout the nation.
